Veni, Veni Emmanuel - Oh Come, Oh Come Emmanuel

As you can see, I have my new background, for Christmas. So I thought I would post something Christmasy.

This is one of my favorite Christmas songs and I don't really know why. My dad always played the latin version of this song at Christmas time and I finally learned to sing it myself.

Latin

Veni, veni emmanuel;
Captivum solve israel,
Qui gemit in exilio,
Privatus dei filio.

Gaude! gaude! emmanuel,
Nascetur pro te, israel!

Veni, veni, o oriens;
Solare nos adveniens,
Noctis depelle nobulas,
Dirasque noctis tenebras
.
Gaude! gaude! emmanuel,
Nascetur pro te, israel!

Veni, clavis davidica!
Regna reclude cealica;
Fac iter tutum superum,
Et claude vias inferum,

Gaude! gaude! emmanuel,
Nascetur pro te, israel!

Veni, veni adonai!
Qui populo in sinai,
Legem dedisti vertice,
In maiestata gloriae.

Gaude! gaude! emmanuel,
Nascetur pro te, israel!

English

Oh come, Oh come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear

Rejoice, Rejoice!
Emmanuel shall come to thee, Oh Israel!

Oh come, Thou Dayspring, come and cheer
Thy people with Thine advent here;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death's dark shadows put to flight

Rejoice, Rejoice!
Emmanuel shall come to thee, Oh Israel!

Oh come, Thou rod of Jesse, free
Thine own from Satan's tyranny
From depths of hell Thy people save
And give them victory o'ver the grave

Rejoice, Rejoice!
Emmanuel shall come to thee, Oh Israel!
Rejoice, Rejoice!
Emmanuel shall come to thee, Oh Israel!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I love this holiday. It's my favorite. It's not just a day to eat and eat until your stomach can take no more. It's a day to thank God for what he's done. Even if you feel like you have a horrible life, there are blessings to be thankful for. There's always something that could be better, but there's also something that could be worse.

I went with a group of people to see a man who was at our church. He's now paralyzed pretty much from the neck down. He can move his arms and hands a little bit but not much at all. He kept telling us over and over that we should start praising God for the ability to walk and move. He can't even feed himself now and it's something he took for granted when he could.

There are so many things that we take for granted every single day we live. And we should be praising God for those things He allows us to do! We seem to be so gloom and doom anymore (and who could expect different with the news media??). But we all just need a good jolt back to the fact that things could always be worse.

I'm going to make an effort to be thankful for the abilities God has given me and praise Him through prayer, words, and my actions, not only today, but every single day for the rest of my life.

I propose that we start a praise chain. Let's see how many comments this blog can hold. Let's fill it up with things we're thankful for and try to think about them more. Comment with something you're thankful for as many times as you think of something new, after your initial post. Let's tell other people that we're thankful for them. Why should we not be. If nothing else, you could be thankful you have eyes to see them with.

We need to be thankful everyday. There should be no reason to only be thankful one day a year. (How depressing does that sound, anyway?)

So I will just say, I'm thankful for whoever reads this post and comments. I think commenting a lot could help my attitude be better. What do you think?

~ Emi ♥

P.S. I'll start by saying I'm thankful for my family, growing up in a Christian home, and having the use of my limbs.

New Background/Upcoming Post

Wow. Two posts in one day. I'm on a roll!

Anyway, I'm announcing that I have decided to change the background for my blog during each holiday season. Halloween is not a holiday in my opinion, so I will be trashing that one. As you can see, I have started my Thanksgiving background.

Now, I also want to announce over the loudspeaker that a blog post called 'But God' will be coming soon on DVD and Blu-ray. Not really. But it will be coming to this blog. So keep an eye on your inbox. If that doesn't work, Subscribe to me. :P

Anyway, I am very looking forward to writing and posting and sharing and sharing and sharing this upcoming post.

I'm tired and it's after 11pm so that is why I'm so........ weird in this post. That and I like make-up.

............ I just thought it was worth an explanation. Ehehe.. nevermind. Goodnight.

Drawing Challenge - Week 4 ~ Dragon vs. Dragon (Comparison Week)

Okay so this time I actually got it done on Friday and didn't get a chance to post it until just now. So here are the dragons! We're going to do a little comparison.

I really wasn't going to show you the first dragon I ever drew. But I decided to. So here goes. *cringe*

First dragon I ever drew:

Now Obviously... that wasn't the greatest dragon ever. My brother even helped me with it. And just so you guys don't get mixed up. I was not a little kid when I drew this. This was like... probably a year or so ago. But this was pretty bad. Heh. So. Let's move on. Quickly.

Okay go down.

So this dragon I drew for my friend. It was her drawing challenge request. Please remember that I do take requests so comment and give me one if you would like!

Oh and you can see my signature in the picture there somewhere. I like to put it into the picture somehow.

Comment and let me know what you think and if you like it. :)

Drawing Challenge - Week 3 ~ Character: Matthew Allen

Here's a drawing I did. I hope you like it! It's extremely late. Sorry about that. Here's a character of mine. His name is Matthew Allen. He moves west to California on an wagon train to build his own farm. I don't have his whole story worked out yet. But he's pretty great :P

Hamburger Cake!

I made a hamburger cake tonight with my little sister. It turned out so great! And this is going to take place one of the drawings for this week because this is art :P

I made one yellow cake mix, splitting the batter between two 8" round cake pans and baked them. I leveled one of them for the bottom part of the bun and let it sit for a few so it wouldn't get a bunch of crumbs in it when I frosted it. Then I made an 8" round pan of brownies for the hamburger patty.

I mixed orange food coloring into vanilla frosting and then we frosted the two 8" cakes and placed the brownie on top of the bottom bun. Then my sister and I formed little lettuces from green air heads by cutting it into four pieces and each piece getting formed separately. Then we rolled out two red air heads so that one end was round. Then we placed them over the lettuces on opposite ends of the cake. For the cheese, we rolled out/stretched orange air heads and placed it of the lettuces on the opposite ends of the cake (so the tomatoes and cheese form a square sort of).

Then I put the top half of the bun on and my sister sprinkled a few white (only white) sprinkles over the top for the little seeds.

What I would do differently:

  • I would get the airheads all ready before I need to actually use them so it's not a rush at the end
  • I would frost a really thin layer over the middle of the brownie cake before putting the top of the bun on.
  • I would put the lettuces airheads on before the brownie is all the way cooled. The lettuces didn't like to stay on because the brownie cake was cool.

Instructions:
Prepare 1 boxed cake mix (or your favorite recipe). Split between two 8' round cake pans. Prepare one boxed brownie mix (or your favorite recipe) and put in an 8" round cake pan. Bake at directed temperature.

While it's baking and cooling: Clean your mess and start forming little lettuce leaves just by bending the pieces of green air heads however you would like (We used four airheads, I think.) and then the red ones roll out with a rolling pin or something like that. Even a longer cup would work. Flatten it a little and then roll one end so it's round. Do that for the second tomato. Roll the orange airheads out and stretch them into squares.

After the cakes and brownie come out of the oven, as soon as you can, try to get them out onto a solid, thick cutting board to cool.

Put the lettuce pieces around the edge of the brownie cake before it's all the way cooled. But not when it's just come out of the oven either (or I imagine the airheads would melt).

After the cakes are cool, level the flatter of the two to make it even more flat. Then frost it with vanilla (colored tan-ish orange for the bun color). Then carefully place the brownie cake on top of the bottom bun. Frost a little over the top of the brownie then frost the top bun. Make sure all the airhead pieces are in place before moving the top bun onto the brownie (I used a metal spatula). And... TA-DA!

FINISHED PRODUCT!

I hope you like it! It was really good and tasty! Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think and if you're going to try it!

Bye!

Drawing Challenge ~ Week 2 - Leaf

I know I'm extremely late >.< But I'll make up for it by posting this and then hopefully doing this week's drawing on Thursday because I'll be out of town and won't have time at the very end to the week. So anyway, here's the leaf! I did this with colored pencils: And I had drawn something on the other side of the page, so that's why you see these two sticks XD

Remember, I take requests! So bring it on and I'll do my best!

Drawing Challenge - Week 1 ~ Horse

Come see!!! I'm so excited! I drew something I haven't tried in a long time. I drew it for a wonderful friend I have and it's going to be the art I share this week.

A lot of my friends love horses and the friend I drew this for, obviously did too =P But anyway, I decided to draw it for her and then I thought it would be a good piece to post. So here it is:

If you look close you can see my signature in it.

So! Thoughts, criticism, whatever you want to say. =P

September Blog Challenge - Day 29

Question 29: Do you keep a journal?

Answer: I keep two journals. One a physical book, the other is a private blog (so that way if I'm gone somewhere I can still be able to write). I love keeping a journal. It can sometimes be a good friend.

September Blog Challenge - Day 28

September Blog Challenge - Days 25 and 26

Question 25: When was the last formal thing you went to?

Answer: Probably my sisters tea party. Though it wasn't really 'formal.' We just dressed up like it was. So if that doesn't count, it would be my graduation ceremony, uh... 2 years ago.

Question 26: What is your favorite costume you have?

Answer: Well, I have two of them. I have a medieval dress that I bought off of Amazon. And then I have a peasant-ish outfit that I made up out of clothes I had laying around. I would say the last one is my favorite. Probably because I made it myself.

September Blog Challenge - Day 24

Question 24: What is your favorite holiday?

Answer: I would say my favorite holiday would be Thanksgiving. I like Thanksgiving because I think most people forget to be thankful everyday. And Thanksgiving could be a reminder.

September Blog Challenge - Day 23

Question 23: If you had to go to an island forever where there was food and water, what three items would you bring? (No cheating by bringing a boat to get off or anything like that.)

Answer:
1. Bible
2. Tons of paper
3. Enough pens for a lifetime.

What about you?

September Blog Challenge - Day 22

Now I have to catch up so I'll do Question 22 right now and do today's question later on.

Question 22: What is one memory you have with your siblings (or if you don't have siblings, your friends) from when you were a little kid?

Answer: I think I'll pick a memory from the farm. Just as a warning, this might be a ramble that turns into several memories. But we used to live on a farm and we had a little bit of woods in the front of the house and then more in the back. My older sister and I would go all over and pick wild blackberries to bring home (what we actually left in the baskets... haha.). Then I remember that we used to make blanket tents using chairs or anything else that was in the room using blankets and books. Stacks of books to hold the blankets in place. Then we would take our berries in there or other food and then read together or play a game. Most of the time my other siblings got in on that part.

So what about you?

September Blog Challenge - Day 21

Question 21: How clean is your sock drawer? Just kidding :P What was the last book you read?

Answer: Beric the Briton by G A Henty. It's about a young Briton named
Beric. Haha. Briton is invaded by the Romans and he's carried back to Rome as a slave I believe. He goes through different lands under the power of Rome and is put into a gladiator school where he fights in the arena. Then Emperor Nero marks him as a brave sort of man and has him and his little band of Britons (who were captured with him) appointed as his personal guard. Things get tense when he falls in disfavor with Nero and has to run.

September Blog Challenge - Day 20

Question 20: Are you excited for Winter?

Answer: Not particularly... I don't like the cold. But I like  the baking and hot meals during winder time. I think I could settle for Fall or Spring better though.

What about you?

September Blog Challenge - Day 19

Question 19: What kind of crafty stuff do you like to do (if any)?

Answer: I like to knit some. Not a lot. But some. Crocheting I like a little better. I think what I like to do the most is cross stitch, though I would really like to get sewing again. It would have to be by hand, but still. I miss sewing. Never been much of a woodworking kind of person but I guess that's mainly a guy thing.

What about you?

September Blog Challenge - Day 18

Question 18: What is your favorite Bible character?

Answer: That's really hard. But I like Ruth. I think she's my favorite. When I was little, I was slightly obsessed with Peter though too.

What about you?

Tuesday, September 17, 2013

September Blog Challenge - Day 17

Question 17: Which president  was your favorite (not just in your lifetime)?

Answer: I think George Washington for several reasons. I liked that he was a Christian. My favorite story about him was when God protected him from the bullets of the indians. When he had bullet holes in his coat but he had never felt a thing. That and I love the painting of him praying beside his horse.

What about you?

September Blog Challenge - Day 15

Answer: I get up around 7am to get ready to church. We leave at 9 and get there around 10. we have Sunday School for about 45 to 50 minutes and then the morning service starts around 11. We get out of church around 1pm (after all the talking and we do afterwards :P) and then we go home and spend the afternoon eating lunch, taking naps, whatever we feel like doing that day. Then we go back to church around 5 and get home at about 9pm and maybe eat some dinner and go to bed.

September Blog Challenge - Day 11

Question 11: Do you have a favorite genre of books?

Answer: I would say there's a definite tie right now between Western and Victorian. I don't actually know if that's a genre or not.. but. Oh well.

Christian Disneyland

What in the world would that be? Christian Disneyland? What does that mean?

Well, I happened to hear Jim Walker, an evangelist who comes to our church about once a year, say The United States was Christian Disneyland. You see, while people in other countries are dying for their faith and for spreading the gospel, we in the USA sit in our easy chairs and complain about the temperature or how bad our government is. Yes, it's bad. But it's not as bad as it could be. We play games with our faith. Most Christian's don't take it seriously at all.

We have the freedom to tell people in this country about Christ and spread the gospel. But what do we do? Nothing. We're too afraid of getting cussed at or just yelled at so we sit there and say nothing at all.

We need to get moving on this! Our rights one by one are being taken away and the first amendment will definitely be soon to go. If we don't do it now when it's easy(er), are we going to do it when things get tough? Most likely not.

Honestly, what excuse do we have to not spread the gospel and tell everyone we can about Jesus Christ? We really don't have one at all. Not a valid one. Yes, we can show by example. We should show the world what a Christian ought to conduct themselves like as a representative of Jesus Christ. But we need to tell them about Him and what He did for them.

We're down to the end of this thing. I believe that God's going to call us up out of here soon. We need to do what God told us to do. There are so many people that need reached. Everywhere.

We need to stop looking at the outside of a person, the color of their skin, tattoos, etc, and see a soul. There are only two kinds of people in this world: saved and lost. Every one of us needs Jesus Christ. And as Christians, it is our duty to go tell them.

It's not hard to do. It has it's hard times. But nothing comparing to the rest of the world. Our government may be bad. But this is still the best place to live as a Christian.

So these are some ways I witness or plan to start witnessing:

  1. Pass gospel tracts out everywhere. And I really mean everywhere. You can put them in bathroom stalls. You can put them in telephone booths (not that you'll find many of those anymore). Just everywhere you go.
  2. But don't just lay them down places, hoping someone will pick them. Pass them out directly to people too! It's best to have someone with you when you do this. Two are better than one in this case for the most part. But if you can't find anyone to go with, do it yourself.
  3. Have your bible with you as often as you can and look for opportunities to get a word in for Christ. This is the hard part for me, I think. I feel like I might mess something up. So I don't open my mouth in the first place. But I still need to do this. Co-workers, friends, anyone you talk to. They need Jesus Christ too.
I'm sure there are more ways. But you can get creative and think of different ways to get the gospel out. Just get it out there somehow!

I know this is very important and it's sort of become one of my passions. Although, I think I've felt more strongly about this than anything else. We need to pray for our country and for sinners. We need to see people as they really are: Sinners in need of a Savior. In the end we're all beggars. Let's go out and tell some other beggars where the bread is.

~ Emi ♥

P.S. If you would like to hear Jim Walker talk about this, here's a link to his sermon:

September Blog Challenge - Day 10

Question 10: Did you ever at some point want to name a future child a certain name?

Answer: Well I actually have a list right now... ehe. But  I like Caleb Jackson though I didn't originate that one. My sister in law did. But I stole it because she didn't like it anymore. I also like the idea of naming one of my kids a name that sounds elvish. But of course, they wouldn't get to find their name on any of those keychains or anything like that. So I'm not sure on those.

September Blog Challenge - Day 8

Question 8: What is your favorite thing about your family?

Answer: Oh my chogie. I asked myself a really hard question. I would say, we seem to support each other pretty well. We like to spend time with each other. I guess those aren't the same thing. But oh well.

Answer: Cheese.

September Blog Challenge - Day 6

Question 6: Do you think you have a good church? Why?

Answer: Ok that's two questions. But whatever. Anyways, I think my church is the best church ever. Why? Because my pastor doesn't try to organize to the point where he limits God. We don't even have a bulletin because we don't have a certain order of service that we have to stick to. He calls up to sing who he thinks God wants to sing and orders the rest of the service the same way. I could ramble on about this but you probably get the point. :P

Go ahead! Tell me yours!

Question 4: If you could be any fictional book character, who would you be?

To My Friend ♥

So this is a randomness blog right? So I can't help myself. My bestest friend's birthday is today. So allow me a random blog post.

Dear Katie,

Hi. So I wanted to tell you Happy birthday. So Happy Birthday. :P I love you so much and I pray for you everyday. You're an amazing friend and I'm not good with words, but I want to try and tell you how much our friendship means to me. So if it makes no sense, I apologize. You know me enough to know I fail at making sense sometimes. :P

Anyways, I remember we started becoming friend through 4-H. We talked some but we started becoming closer after I joined OYAN and then going to the Summer Workshop. We became closer after that. By the time the Winter Workshop came around, you were the best friend I had. I knew you didn't like to label friends. So I also knew you probably didn't want to be labeled as a best friend either. But I've been thinking of you like that in my mind ever since then.

You've been a sturdy rock when I was having a hard time with stuff. I knew I could text you when I needed to talk. And it felt good that you did the same with me when you needed to talk or needed prayer. You're a blessing, Katie.

~Emily ♥

P.S. I wasn't very long, was it? Oh well. I tried XD
P.P.S Please don't kill me for posting about you on my blog. *cringes* I just... couldn't help myself. The devil made me do it. Just kidding :D

September Blog Challenge - Day 3

Ok this one is a very simple question but I think it's one we all ask ourselves at some point. Especially as a child. So I'm looking forward to seeing your answers too!

Question 3: Do you like your name?

Answer: Well sometimes I think it would have been more epic if I had an odd name. Then I met OYAN where they give you weird nicknames anyway. So I would say, Yes I like my name. (I like shortening it to Emma or Emi though.)

September Blog Challenge - Day 2

So since I started it on the second day into the month, I have to post another question to catch up.

Question 2: What do you like in a story?

Answer: A real hero with problems he is trying to get over, a villain who can be pitied, adventure. And this also changes with my mood. But this is what I like in all kinds of stories. If it's not an adventure novel, it still needs to have some kind of adventure in it.

September Blog Challenge - Day 1

So my friend Penny decided to do this on her blog (http://barefootbladeweaver.blogspot.com) and I think it sounded like a fun idea so I'm going to do it too.

What it is: 1 question a day until the end of the month. I might miss Sundays but I will try to not do that.

You can answer the questions too! I would love to see your answers! Also any ideas for questions you might want me to answer would be nice.

Question 1: If there was one place you could go, where would it be?

Answer: Definitely Scotland. I've wanted to go there since I was a little kid. Scots are in my ancestry. I just want to go there!

Charrie Drawing: Cindy

As my friends know, I like to draw. I also like to write. So sometimes I like to draw the characters from my novels or other stories. Today, I'm going to post a drawing I did of my character Cindy in the last week. More drawings shall come!

The picture:

Cindy's Bio: (There are some bad things Cindy's done. By posting this, I'm in no way condoning this lifestyle.)
Cindy Garner was born in 1994 to an unmarried mother and father. They got married when she was three years old but hated each other within six months of their marriage. Her growing up years weren't the greatest and she became a rebellious child as a 9 year old. Her rebellion lasted through her teenage years. When she was 18, she and her parents had a fight so nasty that they went and drank afterwards while Cindy went to see her boyfriend. They died in a car accident that night on their way home.
After that Cindy followed in her mother's footsteps and got pregnant with her boyfriend who abandoned her when it was time for her to give birth. After the birth she got so sick she was unconscious for three days. In that time, her baby was lost and for the last 6 months, she's been searching for it.

Do You Have a Legacy?

What would people think of you?

Our pastor's wife passed on last week. She was a really special person. Things that people said about her afterwards just got me thinking about this.

If I died tomorrow, what would people remember me for? Would they remember good or bad things? What kind of legacy would I leave? I know I'm young but I can still have made an impact for good while I'm here.

What's more important would be this: What am I doing to leave a good legacy behind if I die later?

A major thing that was said at her funeral was that she was faithful even though she didn't do something out in front of people. She was faithful to what God wanted her to do no matter what it was.

I realize that I do a lot around our church. But it's not what a person does. It's the attitude they do it with. So I need to think about the attitude I work with.

Someone said, "The life you live is the life you teach." I can say that she was a wonderful, amazing teacher. She took time to make sure you were alright when you knew she was barely able to get to church. She carried oxygen and went through so much. But she would still come. We knew that if she missed church, she had to be doing really bad.

Which would lead me to the next thing. She put God first, no matter what. She put Him above her comfort. I'm sure it would have been more comfortable to stay home. Especially when she was so sick. But she came anyway.

She loved her family and friends so much. Even when she was really sick she wanted to be around her family and give things to her grandchildren. She wanted to cook for everyone.

She was definitely a virtuous woman. Everything in Proverbs 31 matches her completely.

I just hope I can live a life like that. I know that being close to the Lord and living the kind of life that she lived doesn't come without trouble. But I know that when I die, I want to have done some good for God and not just been another average Christian.

Did I Mention

Did I Mention is one of my favorite songs. I love it so much. So I thought I would share it with you.

Did I Mention

David sang the praises of the glory of Jehovah
Paul preached that all is loss save knowing Christ
John said, 'He is precious.' by leaning on his bosom
So for a moment, may I humbly testify

Chorus:
Did I mention that I love Him
How I worship and adore Him
When I can see no way
He makes a way
Did I mention He's been faithful
To every promise He's ever made me
I love Him
That's all I want to say

How many sermons can be preached about this Jesus
How many songs can be sung about God's Son
There are not enough words, enough notes in the music
to tell the story of all the savior has done

Chorus:
Did I mention that I love Him
How I worship and adore Him
When I can see no way
He makes a way
Did I mention He's been faithful
To every promise He's ever made me
I love Him
That's all I want to say

God's View of Us ♥

Why in the world would God think anything about us? We're only his creation. What could we possibly have done to get his attention?

This thought isn't from me. It's actually from an evangelist who came through our church: Craig Cobb. The message God gave him helped me more than any other message I think.

I'm the person who's insecure about themselves to the point where it becomes a sin. I'm thinking of the negative about myself (which is already not good) so much, that I don't think of anything positive. So I'm going to give you this and hope it helps you as much as it did me.

Luke 12:6-7 says:

6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Value. Worth. When Christ saved us with His blood, our worth went up before the throne of heaven. We can't be worthless because God said we're not. He told us we have a purpose. And that purpose is to please and glorify Him according to Revelation 4:11. That's the purpose for everyone on this planet. So none of us our worthless.

In John 15:15 Jesus called us friends. He said, "...but I have called you friends.."

So when you're friends with someone, you want to spend time with them. Jesus desires to spend time with us. It's not required of Him. He wants to! That very thought by itself blows me away!

There something else. When your friend is able to, but doesn't come spend time with you, how do you feel? Doesn't it hurt? Well, I know it hurts me. But guess what. When we don't spend time with God everyday, HE FEELS LEFT OUT! Put that in your pipe and smoke it! Isn't it fantastic? I can't comprehend that! But yet, it makes sense. If Jesus says we're His friends, why shouldn't He feel left out when we don't spend time with him? Hold on a minute and read the definition of friend.

Also: One reconciled after enmity

I'm so glad I'm reconciled by the grace of God. When you're reconciled and you remember that, why should you get discouraged or defeated?

Not only are we Friends but we're Saints, according to Romans 15:25.

Saint - a person who has been sanctified

See? We don't have to wait until we're dead before we're saints! He sanctified us and He calls us Saints because He wants to remind us of that. We shouldn't forget where we came from. No matter how bad or 'good' your life was before Christ, we were all headed for hell. Praise the Lord we don't have to go!

God also, of course views us as Children.  Galatians 3:6 says this: For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Now there are three ways you can be put into a family.

1. Through birth
2. Through marriage
3. Through adoption

We got all three!

When we were saved, we were both born and adopted into the family of God. And when we get to heaven there's going to be a marriage. We are the Bride of Christ. And to be honest, I can't wait. I'm ready to go now!

Ephesians 1:6 says: ...wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

First of all, He made us. We don't need to feel insecure about ourselves. The way He made us is the way He made us. And if we're supposed to glorify and please Him, it shouldn't matter that much! And guess what! GOD CHOSE TO LOVE US! Just the way we are. Think about that for awhile. Seriously. It's healthy.

Second of all, we're accepted. We fit in. There's no need to feel out of place with God.

Now we hear a guy say that his girlfriend/fiance/wife completes him. But seriously, the only way you can be complete is through God. He makes us complete. Colossians 2:10 says that we're complete in Him. We don't need anything else.

Now one more thing and then I'll shut up.
Psalms 139:17-18: 17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

God thinks about us all the time! I don't know about you, but that gets me excited. The times he thinks of us are more than the sand. Now I haven't counted all the grains of sand on a beach, but I can tell you that we probably don't even have a number for that.

That causes me think reflect on how many times I think of Him. I know it certainly doesn't equal that. But seriously, I think we could all do a little more thinking on Him. He is the One, after all, who redeemed us. Who sanctified us.

So that was just some stuff I got from his message. If you want to listen to his message you can find it here: Living in Victory or How God Views Us - Craig Cobb

Why in the name of Middle-Earth is there another blog clogging the internet?

I can only answer that question by asking another. Have you ever felt the urge that you had something other people should know? That is the purpose of this blog. That's why I named it Randomness by Emi. It is going to be full of very random topics.

What will most likely be posted in here:

1. Randomness
2. Randomness
3. Randomness
4. Ran-

You get the idea.

But seriously, I'll probably post some of my writing, little tidbits what God gives me in my devotional time, random blurbs of stuff, book reviews, etc. In other words, all sorts of things.

I'll hopefully be posting some stuff later. Next week we have our fair so I might post some stuff about that. I may post something saturday to tell anyone reading how I did with my 4-H project judging.

Super short post, but 'now I must fly.' So I'll see y'all later!

Oh and I might randomly decide to change the background every once in awhile, too. Just as a warning.
